Former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer said more Californians are joining the fight to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom (D).

During an interview Wednesday, Faulconer, who is challenging Newsom, said residents in the Golden State are crying out for new leadership with members from all parties coming together to recall the Democrat. He asserted California needs someone who can actually be governor and get results without making empty promises.

County election officials have until April 29 to verify the submitted recall signatures.
