New Hampshire GOP fundraiser draws 2024 hopefuls

A slew of potential 2024 GOP presidential candidates are headlining an upcoming New Hampshire Republican Party fundraiser, an illustration of how contenders are gearing up ahead of the party’s upcoming nomination process.

The host committee for the March 30 event includes Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton, and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, among others.

The event — being dubbed as the “Defending the First in the Nation Primary Cocktail Reception and Fundraiser” — is being held at the Capitol Hill home of Ron Kaufman, a longtime Republican National Committee member from Massachusetts. Party officials have begun discussing the 2024 nominating calendar, but they are not expected to make any changes, meaning New Hampshire would maintain its status as the first primary voting state.

Other host committee members include House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel. Also listed on the invitation are RNC Co-chair Tommy Hicks and David Bossie, an RNC member from Maryland who has been widely mentioned as a potential future party chair.

Cruz, Rick Scott, Cotton and Tim Scott have all been making trips to early voting states over the past year.
