Florida Man Arrested After Alleged DUI And Hit-And-Run Rampage

A man is facing multiple charges following a chaotic driving incident through Cape Coral and Fort Myers early Sunday morning. Authorities arrested the suspect after he allegedly drove on a sidewalk and crashed into a sign before fleeing the scene.
Law enforcement officials reported that the driver appeared to be under the influence at the time of the incident. The sequence of events began when witnesses noticed a vehicle maneuvering dangerously on pedestrian walkways, eventually jumping a curb and striking property.
The suspect reportedly failed to stop after the collision, leading to a hit-and-run investigation. Police eventually tracked the individual to Fort Myers, where he was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
Investigators are currently looking into the extent of the property damage caused during the spree and whether any other vehicles were involved. No injuries have been reported in connection with the reckless driving episode thus far.
