Bryan Hucabee, 60,  was charged with three counts of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Thursday. He is accused of shooting three Texas police officers following a 10-hour standoff.

Police were conducting a welfare check at the Flower Mound residence after receiving reports that a resident was threatening to take their own life. Once police arrived on scene, the suspect opened fire on officers.

Chief Andy Kancel of the Flower Mound Police Department gave a statement saying, “at approximately 8:05 p.m. the suspect fired on them from inside the home, striking three Flower Mound police officers. Officers did return fire before retreating to the perimeter.”

Two officers were hospitalized and remain in stable condition while a third suffered minor injuries.

Authorities remained in a standoff for the next several hours, utilizing drones and even sending a robot out to monitor the situation at hand. Officers say the suspect proceeded to fire several rounds at the robot through the front door.

Hucabee eventually surrendered after the SWAT team deployed tear gas into the area.

In the meantime, the investigation remains ongoing and officers say additional charges for Hucabee are pending.
