Former San Diego mayor and California recall gubernatorial candidate Kevin Faulconer addressed his supporters. Following the closing of polls in the state’s recall election, Faulconer spoke to his supporters and reminded them to be steadfast and hold the faith.

“First and foremost, I want to thank all of you, all of our supporters. Thank you. Not only those in San Diego, but all of our supporters across the great state of California,” said Faulconer. “Thank you for wanting a change in our state.”

Faulconer said no matter the outcome of the recall election, the effort to save California continues on whether a Republican is in office or not.

I want to thank my supporters.

You all know me. I’ve never been one to be part of the circus. I’ve been the one who comes in to end the circus. That’s just who I am.

California’s problems aren’t going away, and I’m proud that we ran a campaign based on experience and solutions.

“It’s clear that our work in California is not finished,” stressed Faulconer to supporters.

He said the recall started because working class Americans were being ignored and the issues they care about were remaining unaddressed. Faulconer ended his speech by relaying that California is in need of a governor who will stand up and fight for change, and that the fight is far from over.
