Nearly 300 sheriffs across multiple states signed a letter calling on Joe Biden to put the safety of the American people before politics. Their request was in regards to what they call Biden’s “reckless” border policies.

One sheriff in Massachusetts said he and other sheriffs have made this point to Biden several times, but he has continued to ignore their warnings. Another sheriff out of Maryland expressed his concern about an uptick in crime in his own community due to Biden’s lax policies.

“It absolutely terrifies me,” Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis noted. “It terrifies me for our country’s future, it terrifies me as a citizen of the state of Maryland because these drug trafficking organizations are well-entrenched in Maryland today.”

The sheriffs claim open borders do not work and instead expose Americans to more gangs, violence, drugs, human trafficking and national security threats.
